Production Notes

The talented cast of Prep School includes Carly Schroeder (The Lizzie McGuire Show, Mean Creek), Taylor Lambert, Ben Bellamy, Austin Scott (Hamilton), Stephen Brookins, Lewis Sims, Clayton Rohner (Just One of the Guys, The Relic), and Stewart Finlay-McLennan (National Treasure, Christie).

The film was shot on location all over the San Francisco Bay Area, with the rugby sequences and finale being shot at the Golden Gate Rugby Club on Treasure Island. Classroom and dorm interiors, the house party, Tom’s interview, Kyra’s café, and most night exteriors were shot in San Francisco. The locker room scenes and most of the St. Eligius campus exteriors were shot in Concord, with additional photography in Walnut Creek (Tony’s truck), Lafayette (the team dinner), and Daly City (house party exteriors).

The film premiered at the 2015 Studio City International Film Festival, where it swept the Dramatic Feature category, picking up awards for Best Actor (Bellamy), Best Actress (Schroeder), Best Screenplay (Lynch), and Best Feature. In 2016, the film was picked up by Gravitas Ventures for distribution, going on to receive positive reviews, most recently from Indie Film Minute, Film Threat, and UK Film Review.
